Try Poise Thin-Shape Pads So You Can Recycle Your Period Pad!

After a fun day of Easter crafts and activities with my toddler, I wanted to make something fun for myself. But I didn’t want to dye anything or hide anything and for goodness sake I didn’t need anymore candy! Dilemma: what sort of craft to make for Mommy? It had to be fast and fun! And then I remembered a commercial I’d seen recently where people were crafting interesting things in a campaign to “recycle your period pad.”

Poise Thin-Shape PadsI haven’t needed pads for my period in years thanks to pregnancy and breastfeeding, but I seriously needed them for light bladder leak. 🙁 You know those little leaks that some of us experience occasionally when we are laughing, sneezing, laughing, BREATHING! To be honest, my light bladder leakage wasn’t even a new experience with pregnancy and childbirth. There’s no single reason that lbl happens. Pregnancy, childbirth, hysterectomy, and menopause are certain some of the triggers we hear about most often but complications from surgery, stroke, or chronic diseases like diabetes, multiple sclerosis (MS) or Parkinson’s disease can lead to lbl. So can obesity, bladder or urinary tract infections, and bladder irritants from certain foods and beverages. In other words, if you’re a woman you have a good chance of having lbl issues at some point in your life.

For many of us with light bladder leak, that means we find ourselves wearing period pads on a daily basis. But period pads are not designed to protect us from lbl so when I found out that Poise pads handle lbl way better than period pads, I was tremendously excited to give them a try. According to Poise, their new Poise Thin-Shape Pads, are up to 40% thinner than original Poise brand pads and are made specifically for bladder leaks. They’re also designed to move with your body, so whether I’m bending over to pick up my daughter or hopping in and out of my car, I know I can trust their absorbency. I grabbed a pack of Poise Thin-Shape Pads and it’s like a whole new world of comfort!

Only with my newfound discovery of Poise Thin-Shape Pads I’m now left with boxes, bags, and stacks of various period pads and absolutely no use for them. So I figured, hey, why not? I grabbed some period pads and some tape and made myself an Easter basket!
