Canon Holiday ImageI come from a long line of Canon folks. I remember my Moms 35mm hanging around her neck when I was growing up. She said my Grandpa has used a Canon too. When I bought my first real camera, I went right for the Canons. And when my Mom and I both went digital, we got matching Canon EOS 30Ds from Best Buy. Well it’s almost time to upgrade once again and I have my eye on the Canon EOS Rebel T5i.

Canon Holiday Image 2One of my favorite features is the 3″ vari-angle touch screen. My previous Canon EOS had manual controls and I find the touch screen simplifies navigation. I don’t know if you all remember the thumb-wheel navigation of the old EOS models, but these new models are a dream comparatively. It’s not that the old ones were bad, so much as the new interface is so much faster and streamlined. Technology has come a long way and it’s nice to see how far Canon has advanced with its EOS camera interface over the years.

It’s still just on my wish list for now (hint, hint husband!) but I love that I can walk into Best Buy and give each camera a test drive to help me decide which one to buy. Best Buy is like a home away from home where I can research, try, and then purchase any gadget I need!

Unlike my previous EOS, the Rebel T5i records full Hollywood caliber HD video as well as vivid, crystal-clear images. Plus it has continuous autofocus while taking HD video. I use my smart phone right now and I find it very frustrating when I move from something near in one light to far in another and the picture goes out of focus. It’s the 18.0-megapixel CMOS sensor and the DIGIC 5 image processor that make all the difference in the Canon EOS Rebel T5i!
