This is the first pizza hubby has prepared for our 100 Pizzas series. It was a pretty typical Margherita so perhaps it wasn’t the best recipe for us to choose as our maiden voyage through our pizza book experiment.
In addition to the dough recipe used for all 100 pizzas, the book also has a sauce recipe. However it suggests using store-bought sauce and that’s just what we did. In hindsight, the sauce recipe probably would have been highlighted nicely in this pizza. Perhaps we’ll try it again with their sauce recipe in a few months.
As far as the dough recipe goes, I thought it was a little bland but that might be due to the fact that I was getting over a cold. Hubby noted that the dough wasn’t as poofy as he would have hoped. (His words, not mine.) Next time he’s going to try letting the dough sit longer in the hopes that it will rise more.
